I spent this afternoon at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Poudre Valley Medical Fitness, northern Colorado’s first fitness center with medical supervision.
The fitness center is a Poudre Valley Health System initiative and a step towards making our community a healthier place. It’s also an important step in adapting to healthcare reform, which will put more emphasis on keeping people healthy and out of the hospital in the first place.
Medical Fitness is for everyone: Each member will get a fitness assessment and exercise prescription from a team of healthcare experts. Plans are tailored to each member and designed with the member’s goals and safety in mind.
More than 500 people have already become members of Poudre Valley Medical Fitness, which opens tomorrow (Dec. 1). Learn more on the web at http://www.pvhs.org/medicalfitness.

This sounds great! Given the facility’s location, what is your target demographic? Does the center offer services for young families?
Hi Rebecca,
The center is for everyone! It has a full range of equipment and classes, as well as child care for members with young children.

Rulon,
Any ideas come up yet for putting a fitness center in Fort Collins. Sounds and looks like a great facility, but for those of us that live in FC, it would be quite a drive for a gym membership.
