I routinely make rounds through our hospitals and facilities and never cease to be amazed at the compassionate, high-quality care our staff and partner physicians provide patients.
The Commision on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons saw that dedication in our PVH Cancer Network, recently awarding it the 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award. The CoC says the award is only given to cancer programs that voluntarily commit to providing the highest level of quality cancer care. Poudre Valley Hospital was the only cancer program in the state and among just 18 percent nationwide to receive the honor.

In a letter to PVH, the CoC says cancer programs given the award
demonstrate a Commendation level of compliance with six standards that represent the full scope of the cancer program within five areas of program activities (cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, research, community outreach, and quality improvement).
